Curriculum
Students will choose an emphasis in either electric power systems or in communications and networking for their program of study. All courses needed for the degree will be offered online or by other multimedia delivery methods. A final examination by the student's graduate committee is required.

Communication and Networking Emphasis
The Electrical Engineering M.S. curriculum with a communication and networking focus is offered totally online and is primarily intended to be a coursework-only program. The program requires 30 credit hours (units) of coursework to complete the degree. All students are required to take the core courses.

Students may choose one of the following three:
- CE 703 Responsibility in Engineering: Codes and Professionalism
- CE 790/704 Responsibility in Engineering: Leadership and Diversity
- CE 790 Top/Engineering Ethics Case Studies
Students may choose elective courses not listed above with prior approval from their advisor.

Elective Courses for Both Curricula
Students may choose elective courses not listed above with prior approval from their advisor. Actual degree requirements will be summarized on an approved plan of study. Some general guidelines include:
- Any course that is not a core course can be an elective course.
- Courses offered by other K-State departments, if approved by an advisor, can also be elective courses.
- At most 6 credit hours (units) can be transferred from another school, unless prior approval is obtained. The maximum that can be transferred is 10 units.
