Admission Requirements

Civil Engineering courses can be taken for graduate credit leading to a master of science degree or a limited number of courses (up to nine credit hours/units) can be taken without formal degree candidacy. All students must apply for admission to the Graduate School as either an M.S. Civil Engineering degree candidate or as a special "nondegree-seeking" student. All application materials should be sent directly to the Civil Engineering department. (See "Contact Us".)

Graduate application forms are available at www.k-state.edu/grad/, click on "Online Application".

Degree-Seeking Students

  1. A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  2. An undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or above for the last 60 hours of courses taken.

Note: Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are waived for candidates holding a B.S. degree in CE from an ABET-accredited institution. The GRE is required for all other candidates. Minimum score on the GRE in the Quantitative category must be at the 80th percentile or higher.
