Distance Master's Degrees
The College of Engineering at Kansas State University offers master's degrees via distance education in chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering, and engineering management. All of the courses are offered online except for a very few, which are delivered via CD-Rom, videotape, or a combination of media. The distance courses are exactly the same as the courses offered on campus, and a distance student's diploma and transcript will be identical to an on-campus student's.
Students never need to come to campus for any coursework. Most degree programs do require a campus visit after all coursework is completed so that the final exam can be conducted with the student's graduate committee.
Distance students are offered most of the same benefits and services as on-campus students:
- Student Services such as online library access, financial aid and scholarships, disability support services, online textbook ordering and purchasing, online registration for courses, and the K-State IT Help Desk support are just some of the services available.
- Graduation ceremonies, both on-campus and virtual, are available to distance students.
- Online billing, online grade reporting, and discounts on computers and equipment at the K-State Student Union Computer Store are other benefits offered to distance students.
The K-State Division of Continuing Education (DCE) coordinates and manages enrollments for K-State distance programs.
