Incompletes

If you realize that you cannot complete your coursework by the end of the semester in which you are enrolled, you may make a formal petition for a grade of incomplete, I. Your professor is not required to give you a grade of incomplete; he/she will make that decision based on the work you have already submitted, and on your personal circumstance. The K-State Policy on Incompletes states that unless the work is made up, a grade of F will replace the I at the end of the next semester in which the student is enrolled. The F will count as zero grade points for calculation of the grade point average.

If you are enrolled in a Distance Education Course, you will need to complete the Petition for a Grade of Incomplete form and submit it to the DCE Facilitation Center, Division of Continuing Education, 31 College Court Building, Manhattan, KS 66506-6007, no later than two weeks before the end of the semester.

If you are enrolled in a face-to-face course, you will need to submit the Petition for a Grade of Incomplete form directly to your instructor no later than two weeks before the end of the semester.
