Seminar on Pavement Preservation
"Pavement Preservation: The Preventive Maintenance Concept" is a one-day course offered by the Kansas State University Transportation Center. This course is intended for administrators, engineers and maintenance superintendents who are or will be involved in the implementation of preventive maintenance for pavement preservation concepts or KDOT's substantial maintenance program. Instruction will be provided by a select group of instructors from the industry. The following sessions will be included in the course:

Who Should Attend
Administrators, engineers, and maintenance superintendents who make decisions and implement thin surface treatments for the substantial maintenance program of the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Instructors
Dean Testa, P.E., of DMT Enterprises, Topeka, Kansas is the lead instructor of this class. Mr. Testa was an employee with the Kansas Deptartment of Transportation (KDOT) and has held a variety of both field and headquarters construction and maintenance positions from 1965 through 2005. He retired in April 2005 from KDOT as the Chief of the Bureau of Construction and Maintenance, a position he held since 1983. Mr. Testa received a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas. He also is an NHI-Certified Instructor.
Lon S. Ingram, P.E., retired as the acting Director of the Division of Operation of KDOT in 2007. He had been a KDOT employee for the last three decades, serving in various field and District positions and was the Chief of Bureau of Materials and Research from 1990-2007. Included in his duties was hands-on experience in planning and implementing the KDOT's substantial maintenance program. Mr. Ingram has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University.
